Xkichmook is a Mayan ruin in Yucatan in Mexico.
background
This small and rather unknown Mayan ruin is located on the border area between the state of Yucatán and Campeche. Edward Thompson rediscovered the facility in 1886. A year later, Teoberto Maler examined the system more closely and made a plan. From 1891 Edward Thompson undertook excavations here. Even if the place does not occupy the most important position in the history of the Maya, it is archaeologically of particular importance, as the transition from the Puuc to the Chennes style can be recognized here architecturally.
