background
The first traces of settlement lead to the time around 1400 BC. BC back. The high phase began around 800 BC. According to current research, Nakbé was the first large city in the Maya world. The city was with a sacbé, a sacred road with the Mayan cities El Mirador and Calakmul connected. The city's rise continued into the second century AD. But then this city, like the nearby El Mirador, was probably abandoned in the course of a military conflict.
